Whether through Discipleship Training Schools, church planting, youth ministry, medical outreach, or simply living among the people, the heart remains the same: that every Pacific islander would encounter Jesus, grow as His disciple, and be sent to make Him known — from their own islands to the ends of the earth.
This is the call. This is the mission.

Know God and Make Him Known
YWAM Baguio (Baguio Training Center) was pioneered/founded in 1972.
It is the first permanent YWAM base in the Philippines and the location of Asia’s first Discipleship Training School (DTS).
- Early Focus: Ministry to students, a preschool, and outreach from Baguio into mountain areas (e.g., Ifugao, Benguet, Mountain Province) as well as other parts of the country. Indigenous churches were also planted in squatter communities and among tribal peoples.
- Context in YWAM Philippines: This was an early milestone after the first YWAM teams arrived in the Philippines around 1968. Baguio served as a foundational hub from which the broader national ministry expanded.
Current address: #1 Maryhills, Loakan Proper, Baguio City, 2600, Philippines (P.O. Box 229). It continues as an active training center focused on discipleship, evangelism, and missions.

YWAM Surigao was first established in June 1986, when an outreach team from YWAM Balut came to the area as part of a School of Primary Healthcare outreach.
Under the current leadership of Soriano and Mae, the base has grown into a vibrant community that hosts teams from all over the world and runs its own Discipleship Training Schools.
